On the Artemis trail you will have the opportunity to explore the forest: the two centuries-old black pine trees over 500 years old, the rich and rare flora and rocks of the area. The path Caledonia that is known for the waterfall with exceptional beauty. And the path of Teisia of Madari where, in addition to the contact with nature, offers a panoramic view of Troodos, the lowest points of Solia, Mesaoria and the closest plan to the villages of Kannavia and Agia Irini.
Persefoni
The path Persephone owes its name to the homonymous ancient goddess of Spring. It is a path with rich vegetation which passes from time to time through beautiful clusters of trees and offers almost as a whole a unique view. Looking at the open horizon you will see various areas and villages in the province of Limassol. The starting point of the route starts at a distance of 150m south of Troodos square, at an altitude of 1,720m and ends at an impressive point of exceptional view at an altitude of 1,660m. The trail is 3km long and you will need about 1.5-2 hours to travel.
Atalanti
The path was named after the heroine of mythology Atalanti, famous hunter and runner and protected by the goddess Artemis. It passes through dense clusters of black pine and invisible. On the way you will admire one of the largest invisible trees, 800 years old! The trail is equipped with information signs for plants, shrubs and trees of the mountain range and in it you will find characteristic rocks of the Troodos Ophiolite Complex. The route is not very difficult, but you have to be careful as in some parts of the route stones protrude. The Atalanti route offers excellent views to areas and villages of the provinces of Limassol, Paphos and Nicosia. The starting point and end of the Atalanti path is Troodos Square. The starting kiosk is located at the northwestern end of the Square, behind the old post office building. The trail is 14km long and you will need about 5 hours to cross it.
Artemis
The path was named after the goddess Artemis, daughter of Zeus and Leto and twin sister of the god Apollo. The route follows a circular course around Chionistra, at an altitude of 1850m. With the help of the information signs of the path, you will have the opportunity to explore the forest: the two centuries-old black pine trees over 500 years old, the rich and rare flora (with species such as nepeta, teukrion, chainsaw, chamomile and invisible) and the rocks of the area (such as dunite, harzburgite and pyroxenite). You will also enjoy wonderful views to areas and villages of the provinces of Limassol, Paphos and Nicosia. The whole route is located at the borders of the Troodos National Forest Park, which is a NATURA 2000 area. The route presents no particular difficulties except in its final part, after the Ski Center, where the route becomes slightly uphill for about 200-300 meters. The Teisia of the Old Country are of historical interest. These are ruins of makeshift fortifications that were built during the last year of the Venetian period of Cyprus (1571 AD) by a group of Venetian generals aiming to defend themselves against the Ottomans. After watching the occupation of Chora (Nicosia) from there, fearing the power of the Ottomans, they decided to surrender. The starting point of the trail is 300m. from the connection point of the road to Chionistra with Troodos road. It has a length of 7km and to travel it will take about 3 hours.
Kalidonia
The path Caledonia starts from a point of the Cold River, at an altitude of 1,600m. It follows the banks of the stream with continuous intersections throughout its course, passes by the waterfall of Caledonia, known for its exceptional beauty, and ends at the "Tall Tree" near Platres, at an altitude of 1,200m. Kryos Potamos is one of the few streams in Cyprus with permanently running water, which is used, among other things, for the water supply of Troodos. In this cool and picturesque ravine is the path of study of Nature. The gurgling waters, the birdsong, the variety of vegetation, the splash of water at the waterfall of Caledonia and other steep places, the trout in the various small lakes and the dense shade of the trees will enchant every visitor. The Caledonia trail is a challenge and keeps the hiker's interest undiminished throughout its course. The starting point of the trail is located about 350m from the main road Troodos - Platron, 3km from Troodos square. Access to the starting point is also possible via the old Troodos - Platron road, after the summer Presidential residence. It has a length of 3km and to travel it you will need about 1.5-2 hours.
Tisia tis Madritis
The starting point of the path Teisia of Madari is close to the outpost and is narrow, as it has been literally dug on the hard passage rock. Nevertheless, after 200 meters it becomes smooth. The route has short ups and downs, which are not very tiring. In some places it has stairs and you will find several dry stones that have been there since 1993, when the Trail was built. During your hike you will find resting places with benches as well as places that offer beautiful views. The route, in addition to contact with nature, offers panoramic views of Troodos, the lowest points of Solia, Mesaoria and the closest plan to the villages of Kannavia and Agia Irini. You will see places and places such as the Xyliatou dam, the community of Lagouderos, the village of Polystypos and finally Pitsilia and the province of Limassol. The path is located in the Forest of Brothers, in a section that has been included in the Natura 2000 area "Madari - Papoutsa". The Teisia Trail of Madari is connected with the Trails Madari - Glory be to God and Madari - Selladi Karamanlis at its starting point. The vegetation of the area is more reminiscent of the Troodos Forest, as there are many common elements between the two areas. But you will also discover elements of Madari that make it unique. The starting point of the Teisia Trail of Madari is located at the end of the dead end of the road to Madari, near the outpost of the Department of Forests. It has a length of 3km and to travel it you will need about 1.5-2 hours.

Thanks to all the staff for their kindness. They were all willing and ready to serve you for anything. I had paid for a budget room with a balcony and was eventually given a room with a huge balcony overlooking the snowy mountains. Even though the hotel was full, our room was so noisy that you thought it was empty. The breakfast is excellent and rich !!! Amazing location. 10 ''
